Family Welfare, Primary Health and Preventive Services (FWPPS)Organization has made commitment on increasing access and advocacy for unmet needs of family planning among adolescent girls and youth who have had abortions or have given births in their young ages (post-abortion and post-partum family planning) in Tanzania. FWPPS Organization aims to increase knowledge, create awareness and increase the use of modern contraceptive for family planning in Tanzania community (to improve family planning literacy). These young girls who have had an unintended pregnancy tends to suffer several consequences at the family level, community and other social institutions, thus putting them at greater risk of getting another unplanned pregnancy and many psychological problems. The impact has went further to an increased early and forced marriage as once these girls are being impregnated are forced to get married to the spouse who have impregnated them. However, indirectly the impacts has in the manpower in the community especially to the pregnant school children where their spouse being sentenced to jail and as poor as the girl family could be the number of street children has also been a problem. The use of modern contraceptives family planning methods among Postpartum and post-abortion adolescent girls and youth are very importance to these girls and youth who are already disadvantaged with their previous pregnancies. In this year 2022 FWPPS organization is committed to advocacy for these unmet needs for adolescent girls and young girls (youth) and fill the gap in the reproductive health.
